Presented here is a selection of photographs from the brilliant career of Janice Hall.  Her first opera roles were sung with the Brico Symphony in Denver.  She also was a member of the Colorado Chorale.  After studies at the Boston Conservatory, Miss Hall began her career, at the age of 19, with the Opera Theatre of St. Louis.  Soon she was singing with companies such as the Washington Opera. the New York City Opera. the San Diego Opera, and the Houston Grand Opera.  She spent numerous seasons performing with the Santa Fe Opera and made her European debut at the Hamburg State Opera.  She also sang at the Vienna State Opera, and at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden.  For several years she was a member of the ensemble of the Cologne Opera.  Additional European appearances include Zurich Opera, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Komische Oper Berlin, the Schwetzingen and the Salzburg Festivals.  Ms. Hall has appeared with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Vancouver Opera, the Flemish Opera in Antwerp, and the Festival of Perth, Australia.  She performed in the New York City Opera's Emmy-winning telecast of La Traviata
directed by Renata Scotto.  Janice Hall's recent successes are the title role of Richard Strauss' Salome at the theatres of Hof and Kaiserslautern, Germany, I Pagliacci at Kaiserslautern, and Britten's Turn of the Screw with Ft. Worth Opera.
